On June 23, 2017 the official Grand Opening of the Little Free Library #46,391 at New Morning Market in Woodbury was held amidst the annual fundraiser for Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, which helps victims of domestic violence. There was a BBQ with locally provided hamburgers & hotdogs, as well as ice-cream sundaes from Arethusa Farm Dairy in Litchfield. Four singer/songwriters performed and Little Free Library of StoneHill provided many free books, a make-your-own-bookmark table and a chance to paint and hide a “Be Kind” river stone to be found by someone else. Artist Charlotte Adams was on hand to join the festivities with her family and John, the owner of New Morning Market gave his granddaughter the honor of placing the registration on the box.
